Within easy access to I-69 and I-75, Mott Park neighborhood was originally built in the 1920's to accommodate the growing workforce of General Motors Corporation. Currently, the neighborhood is experiencing a period of revitalization and growth along with neighboring Kettering University (formerly known as General Motors Institute), McLaren Regional Medical Center and the newly restored Atwood Stadium. New construction of the state-of-the-art Michigan School for the Deaf and the new Powers Catholic High School was completed and the students started off the 2013 school year in their new buildings. Mott Park neighborhood is home to a playground, soccer field, tennis courts and dry hockey rink. The Mott Park Neighborhood Association hosts many events around the year including the Mott Park Neighborhood Picnic and Art in the Park.
