    This gorgeous park is a perfect place for kids to play, as you overlook a stunning view of Lake Michigan. This is a tucked-away gem! There is a little ropes course within the playground equipment. Children enjoy different ways to play with sand, which was a brilliant way to already use the landscape provided. The ground is a squishy material under the slides and playground equipment which makes falling less of a concern. There is a pavilion for parents to host picnics, work, or read while children play. Once your children have worked off their energy, you can all enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake. It is the perfect place to enjoy a sunset together. Be sure to check out this gem soon.

    Want a park where you can take all your family, even your dog? Kirk Park is that park! There are two different elevation climbs, lots of sand, and two public beaches. One is an off-leash beach and one is a regular on-leash beach. Amenities and activities include picnic shelter (reservable), Kirk Park Lodge (reservable), swimming beach with no lifeguards, picnic tables and grills, a playground, scenic Lake Michigan views, hiking, ungroomed cross country ski trails, horseshoe pit, modern restrooms which are closed in winter, and a spacious parking lot. Whether you want to hike with your furry friend or play with your kids at the playground, Kirk Park provides the opportunity for many fun memories for all.

    Today was my first trip to Pine Bend Park. I was in West Olive looking at a house and the appointment was delayed for three hours. I decided to check the park out. There is no fee to enjoy this park.

    There is a lot going on at Pine Bend Park. The park sits within 239 acres of woods and wetlands along the Pigeon River. It shares these acres with Hemlock Crossing Park. The signs say that it is owned and maintained by Ottawa County. It is broken up into different areas. The Weaver House, a restored 1901 home is one of the major attractions at this park. This home and trellised area are rented out as an event venue. Near the Weaver House you will find a picnic area with grills, parking lot, restrooms and a trail head marked with a stone based information kiosk. Historic plaques in this area outline the history of Styx Hall 1920-1959 and Fridrich's point Resort 1901-1918.

    Pigeon Creek Park is located at 12524 Stanton Street in West Olive Michigan. It's a hot spot for cross country skiing, snow shoe fans, and sledding! They have a large warming house with a fireplace, food and drinks. You can rent all the equipment or bring your own. The cross country ski trail is lit up at night for evening enjoyment! If you haven't been yet, you are missing out! Take the family out and enjoy!
