Check out this historical marker located in Hudsonville, MI. Jamestown Reformed Church was established in 1891 and remained in use until December 24, 1927, when it was destroyed by fire. Instead of rebuilding the old structure, the congregation decided to construct a new church, which was later reincorporated in 1937 as the Jamestown Reformed Church. Looking for something fun to do for the whole family? On July 20th and 21st join the fun at the annual Grand Rapids Balloon Festival sponsored by RE/MAX of Grand Rapids. There will be hot air balloon launches, helicopter rides, henna tattoos, food and drink vendors, caricatures and magic shows and tons of other activities for the whole family to enjoy! This is a wonderful event and the festival proceeds support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and West Michigan Veterans Coalition.

Outstanding park! Took my three year old daughter there this summer and she absolutely loved it!! There are two basketball hoops, two tennis courts, a splash pad for the kids or adults (hey, I enjoyed it too!), and two great play set's; one for the older kids and one for the younger ones. In addition there is a nice pavilion, clean bathrooms, and a small lake you can fish or walk all the way around.

Friday, October 6th is Terra Square's first indoor movie night! Bring your family, favorite snacks, and a blanket to relax on. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the movie begins at 7:00 p.m. The address is 3380 Chicago Drive. It's so exciting to have space for friends and family to gather and have a family friendly event! If you weren't able to make it to the Grand Rapids Balloon Festival at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds this past weekend, make sure to add it to your calendar for next year. This festival is frequently referred to as one of the best...offering tethered balloon rides, helicopter rides, an arts and crafts area, carnival games, live music and entertainment, Cookies and Canvas painting, photo booths, face painting and so much more!

The highlight of the event are the number of balloon pilots that drive from all over the state to launch their balloon and participate in the evening night balloon "glow". This glow is an amazing site as the balloons become transparent when lit up and across the night sky!

Holland Parade of Lights was Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 6:30pm. This annual event always has an excellent turnout. Enjoy a brilliant holiday lights display as it moves down 8th Street in quaint Downtown Holland, complete with bands, floats, family, and friends. Warm up afterward with a cup of cocoa from my favorite coffee house, JP's!

The Hudsonville Christmas Tree Lighting is Thursday, December 1, 4:30-7:30pm. So, gather around the big tree with your family and neighbors in the plaza square for cocoa, crafts (bring a personalized ornament home with you), free horse drawn carriage rides, and photos with Santa!

Walker Winter Fest takes place on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 5:00-7:30pm. Head to the Walker Ice & Fitness Center for a wonderful holiday experience! Free ice skating, live reindeer, crafts, a figure skating performance, and jolly holiday music is sure to bring joy to you and yours!

Friday, December 2, 2016 at 5:30-9:00pm brings Ada's Tinsel, Treats and Trolley Bridge Lighting. Ada Township's annual Bridge Lighting ceremony draws friends and family from all around as they light the historical covered bridge followed by free trolley rides around town with stops for treats and specials at the open doors of local businesses!

Finally, the Grandville Christmas Parade will be Friday, December 2, 2016 at 7:30pm. Come on out and enjoy an evening of holiday cheer complete with the Parade, reindeer, carolers, photo ops, North Pole houses, and a warm-your-hands-by-the-fire in the Franklin St corridor!

The Urban Hay Days event put on by the City of Hudsonville is just one example of the many things to love about this great community. On October 17, this family friendly event will feature live music, a petting zoo, pumpkin races, mechanical bull-riding contest, pony rides, a tractor show, and tons more - something to do for residents of all ages! Almost all activities are free. After you work up your appetite trying to stay on that bull, there will be several food vendors on sight! If you're thinking about a move, this event is a great chance to check out the atmosphere of the Hudsonville community.

The Fair starts this week! The fairgrounds are located in Hudsonville. There are things to do for the whole family at the fair. You can attend the auction and buy livestock from the local 4-H kids. Hudsonville is a community friendly area to live. It is a quaint area with a rural and an urban feel, depending on the neighborhood you choose to live in. One of the many great features of this town is the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. Many community events are held here throughout the year.

RE/MAX holds a balloon festival here which is a free event to everyone and is a great way to experience community togetherness as well as enjoying the beautiful sights of hot air balloons filling the sky. The proceeds of this event are donated to a local charity. This year the charity was Children's Miracle Network. RE/MAX is doing good things for the communities of West Michigan.

Hudsonville Ice Cream is known through out Michigan for their delicious ice cream. They started off with six flavors and now have many to choose from. You should be able to find this brand at many different ice cream shops and grocery stores throughout Michigan.

As a family with two young children, we enjoy all of the events the Hudsonville County Fairgrounds bring to the area. With ample space to host events and convenient on-site parking, it's easy to access and enter/exit. What a wonderful place to have here right in West Michigan! At the Georgetown Ice Center, you can join a youth or adult league, host a birthday party or group outing, bring your family out for an open skate time, and you can even learn to skate for the first time! Georgetown Ice Center is at the corner of 48th Avenue and Bauer Road in Hudsonville - it's very centrally located in West Michigan.

Great food and a great atmosphere! Vitale's is a family owned Italian restaurant centrally located on Balsam Drive. It has been in Hudsonville for over 40 years, with something for every taste including American, Italian, and Mexican entrees. However, you have to check out their award winning pizza while watching your favorite sport team on their many flat screen TV's!
