Even those who I know who avoid going out to eat because of allergies feel comfortable eating here because the food is delicious and the chefs take care of their customers. The community of Holland is going Irish for a day! Featuring Irish dancers, bagpipers and kilt-wearers, the 15th annual Downtown Holland St. Patrick's Parade will begin at the 8th Street Marketplace and travel east up 8th Street to the corner of College. Are you aware there are 38 (soon to be 40) County Parks? "The Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission was formed in 1987 to oversee County Park properties. Today the Parks Commission manages 38 parks and open space's totaling over 6500 acres. These natural resource-based properties offer year round recreational and educational opportunities for people of all ages and ensure the special natural features and rich heritage of Ottawa County will be protected for future generations."

The parks offer many miles of hiking and trails to access scenic river corridors. The parks are open from March 1 through October 15 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Some parks are closed during the winter, but most remain open October 16 through February 28 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Critter Barn is so much fun for kids of all ages! At special times, there are new births of baby goats. These babies have tons of energy and hop all around. Kids have the opportunity to feed the baby goats a bottle and pet the young animals. Bunnies, chicks, calves, donkeys, and more are all nearby and you'll find your kids pointing and excited to see the next animal. As an added bonus, there is a live nativity at Christmas. Everything is free. Donations are accepted, but not expected. And there is no heavy sales pitch for donations. Come out for an enjoyable day for all of your family!

Tulip City! Don't miss the second week in May! This is the 90th year of the festival. Every year the city of Holland hosts the Tulip Festival, complete with wooden shoe dancers and parades! Plenty to do over the celebration period. Lake Michigan beaches are only minutes away and Lake Macatawa is close by! Plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment.

We're going to "paint the town orange" in celebration of Tulip Time's 90th anniversary in 2019! You will see orange tulips of different varieties in our local parks and throughout the town, along with many events and activities.
