    The Vineyards is a newer addition on the north end of "The Greenbrier" subdivision. The development started in the late 1990's and builder Pulte Homes has a strong presence there. The development is connected to Collins Elementary via a sidewalk. All are single family homes with designs ranging from traditional to contemporary.

    The community is invited to attend the Jan G. Vonk, "Celebration of an Artist's Life" exhibit from October 30 through November 20, 2015 at the Fine Arts Center. As a volunteer, Mr Vonk created the Forest Hills Public Schools logo freehand, with his script handwriting, as well as other logos and programs for Forest Hills organizations. A reception will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Fine Arts Center lobby.

    I can tell you from personal experience that Forest Hills is a great place to grow up. In many of the subdivisions there is access to local parks, playgrounds, pools, and areas for the community to get together. Specifically, the Forest Hills Park Association in the Greenbrier neighborhood has all of the above! Memorial Day pancake breakfast, Easter eggs hunts, 4th of July bike parade for kids; it's all great. During the summer months, you can find families cooling off in the water, eating lunch on the pool deck, and groups playing beach volleyball, tennis, or baseball. The Forest Hills Park Association supports and encourages an active community and we all certainly have had our fun there!

    There is also a summer swim team that competes against other local pool associations. With morning swim practices, it's a great way for middle school and high school age kids to be active in the summer and also to get them out of bed! For the younger ones, swim lessons run for all ages. Don't forget about the tennis lessons either!

    Community events, great schools, a strong community feel, and access to local amenities makes Forest Hills worth visiting in person!
