    Roadside Park is a beach park with swimming on Lake Michigan. There is no lifeguard at this location. The gravel parking lot, just off Blue Star Hwy in Hagar Shores, has a 625 plus feet pathway to the beach. This small beach is sandy and very quiet. It's a great place to launch a kayak and there are picnic tables to enjoy lunch. There are restrooms (porta johns). Dogs are allowed but owners must pick up after them and keep them on a leash at all times.

    Hagar Shores is located in northern Berrien along Lake Michigan and is a combination of three communities: Lake Michigan Beach, Riverside and parts of Coloma. This area has been a beach resort area since 1922. In 1915, this area was known as The West Michigan Pike northern link to the Dixie Highway. The beaches in the area are breathtaking.

    There are two beach parks that are worth mentioning, Hagar Park and Roadside Park. Each beach park has its own personality. Hagar Shores is a small family park with easy access to the water. Roadside Park is a small beach area with a gravel lot and a path to the beach. Both beaches allow dogs as long as you clean up after them.

    Hagar Shores is a rural area with lots of fruit farms with great access to M63 and I-96. Homes for sale in this area consist of starter homes, small cottages, mid- level homes and waterfront homes. There are a lot of vacation homes in the area that owners rent out.
