I have lived in Centreville since 2006 and I've lived in St. Joe County my entire life. We love the school system here! I am the secretary of our local little league and enjoy being involved with the community. Centreville is the county seat of St. Joseph County and is also home of the St. Joseph County Historical Museum located downtown. It is a great community and has many aspects to highlight. One of my favorites is Yoder's Country Market, a local Amish/Mennonite store, which has grown several times over the past few years. They feature homemade baked goods, donuts, a bulk store and the best deli around with amazing cheeses, meats and salads. They serve lunch specials daily, with subs and other sandwiches, and a highly-recommended salad bar. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but it's hard to find a seat at any time of the year because it is one of the most popular restaurants in the area.Island Hills Golf Course calls Centreville home as well. It is a beautiful course and they offer Stay and Play packages with gorgeous condos overlooking Lake Templene. Island Hills also has The Grille Tavern located in their clubhouse which is a great place to eat or socialize. There are docks out back so you can dock your boat and walk up to enjoy lunch or dinner. Our local community college is also located in Centreville-Glen Oaks Community College. I earned my Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Glen Oaks (then went on to complete my Bachelor's Degree at Baker College) and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It is a wonderful college and truly is an asset to our county. Centreville is home to the Langely Covered Bridge, which is the longest covered bridge in Michigan and is a gorgeous site in itself. Adjacent to the covered bridge are very popular fishing spots and the Covered Bridge Park. If you are looking for an outdoor wedding venue, Riverside Receptions, located on the Prairie River in Centreville, is an absolutely stunning location. We have several lakes in the area, Templene being the largest, which are all great for fishing. The County Fair, which takes place every September, is in Centreville and is one of the best fairs in Michigan. There are so many wonderful things about our community and I am happy to be a part of it.
