    We took the kids sledding at Barber Memorial Park. There's a great intermediate hill, perfect for younger kids, and mom and dad, too! We had a blast. The park is on Seymour Rd near M57 and has a great view of the Flint River.

  • The Montrose farmers market is held every Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm at beautiful Barber Park. Now in the second year, this has really grown into a wonderful outdoor market. With a variety of vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and veggies, local honey, crafts and soap, there is something for everyone!

    Montrose Orchards
    One of our favorite things to do in the fall is taking the kids on a hayride at Montrose Orchards and picking pumpkins out of the patch. The kids love the ride through the woods and seeing all of the different characters along the way. Homemade donuts and cider top it all off. It's also a great place to have a young ones birthday party.

  • Montrose and football have always seemed to go together. I knew it "back in the day" as one of the kids from the next town north, when Montrose was mentioned it was almost always because football was the topic. I see it now that my boys are students and football players at Montrose Schools. I see how football brings families and the community together. I overhear a couple old timers debating Fridays game over coffee at McD's and I see the moms excited to decorate the lockers for the Varsity Team. I give up Saturdays to work concessions with other parents for our youth program home games. I see the pride a shy 8 year old feels the first time he puts on his pads and helmet, and I see the coach who takes an extra minute with a new player to help him understand a play. I see the players and cheerleaders at the Homecoming parade, where everyone from the 8 year old elementary player to the senior in high school is feeling RAM pride. I'm glad I live in a community like Montrose. Go Rams!
