Turner-Dodge Mansion overlooking the Grand River is a popular Lansing Landmark. The home was originally built in 1858 in the Greek Revival style, designed by Lansing architect Darius B Moon, for James & Marion Turner. Later purchased by Abigail and Frank Dodge, the Turner's daughter, and son-in-law, who greatly expanded the home in the Classical Revival style that proudly stands today. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and purchased by the City of Lansing in 1974. Today the home has been restored to turn of the 19th century aesthetic and serves as a Cultural Heritage Center, where guided tours are available daily. Located in North Lansing, known as Old Town (a flourishing business district, full of color and life), the home and grounds are a park along the scenic Lansing River Trail.
