    Historic Hackley Park is the center of many community functions in Muskegon. It is a National Historic Designated Park that was donated in 1890 by Charles Hackley. This park has a central focal point containing an eighty-foot-tall soldier's monument in memory of Civil War Veterans. Throughout the year, this park hosts family-friendly events. Parties in the park are on Friday evenings all summer long. Guests can bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy all the different genres of music. The Lakeshore Art Festival holds its yearly exhibits here. On Memorial Day, it is a place to congregate to help celebrate our workforce. Then we have the Christmas season where there are light displays galore, and Santa rides in on a fire truck to do the community countdown for the city Christmas tree. Whether you are visiting the area or a resident, you will be sure to find something happening at the Park.
