Michigan is known for it's cherries, yet West Michigan produces 44% of the blueberries on the U.S. market. Thankfully, a lovely woman named Tiffany Balk, decided it was time to give recognition and acknowledgment to our local staple. Blueberry Haven was established in 2007, it is a quaint shop in downtown Grand Haven. They sell dozens of creative blueberry variants including jams, dressings, syrups and more! We especially appreciate their gift sets, they make the perfect present.

  • Los Angelinos call their West Coast the best coast, New Yorkers call their coast the "Beast Coast," but both coasts have forgotten about the very best coast of them all: the one in the middle of the U.S, the one without an ocean. Yes, I'm talking about the spectacular Lake Michigan coastline. We might not have summer year round like in Los Angeles, but I've also never been stung by a jellyfish in Lake Michigan. All too often West Michiganders forget that the lake is beautiful all year round! It is no mistake that U.S. News ranks Grand Haven as one of the top six best secret beaches in the United States!

Grand Haven's downtown area is located on the west side and sits on the banks of the Grand River channel leading out to Lake Michigan. The downtown area has it all, from shopping, restaurants and nightlife, to beaches, boating and fishing. It is the center of activity for many of the festivals and events that happen throughout the year. The larger, historic homes and buildings are concentrated here as well. Many of these buildings now house luxury condos, some of which even offer concierge services. There are at least a dozen condo developments along and near Harbor Drive, plus more located above the retail shops along Washington Avenue. Price varies widely depending on a variety of factors. Expect to pay no less than $150.000, but more likely between $200,000 and $400,000.
