    Mendon is a small village in Mendon Township within St Joseph County. The St Joseph River plays a big part in both the village and township. The village host a riverside festival each year in August at the Reed Riverside Park called Mendon Riverfest. They have been hosting the festival for over 30 years. There are a lot of Amish communities in the area. The village downtown has shops for the tourists. During the summer months the village has a farmers market at Reed Riverside Park. Portage Lake is a 510 acre lake located in the northwest portion of Mendon Township that also sits in Three Rivers. This area has a wonderful country feel and has several historic buildings to enjoy. Both the Marantette House and the Mendon Country Inn are worth checkout if you like history.
