The Clinton River Trail starts at Sylvan Lake where it meets the West Bloomfield Trail and runs into the south side of Pontiac where there is a spur that goes downtown for restaurants and bars. It then runs through Auburn Hills, (with access to shops and restaurants), Rochester Hills, (with a scenic overlook and nearby restaurants and bars where it crosses Crooks Rd.), and Rochester, (with access to the Paint Creek Trail and shops and restaurants), ending at the Oakland / Macomb county line where it meets the Macomb Orchard Trail. It is part of the Michigan Great Lake to Lake Trail which will run from Port Huron to South Haven, much of which is already complete. There are a number of motels near the trail as well.
