Dexter encompasses the areas between A2 (aka Ann Arbor) and the cities of Brighton and Chelsea. Also, the entire area west of A2 by the river is within Dexter Schools. Loch Alpine is a great example of a Dexter neighborhood; I lived there for four years, and loved it! There is a border-to-border bike trail that goes from A2-Dexter to many Dexter neighborhoods, lakes, Chain O' Lakes, and Pinckney.

Dexter's housing is varied, with beautiful examples of Victorian architecture close in, and newer subdivisions from village to highway at both 94 and 23. There are many upscale neighborhoods in low township tax areas. It's the best of Ann Arbor with more land and less expense.

Dexter is becoming a desirable place to live, and has recently completed a trail that connects Mill Creek Park to Hudson Mills. The City of Dexter has submitted application to get a target market analysis grant. This will help decide what is needed for new residential development in the form of apartments and condos. This is an exciting and attractive potential for Dexter!

Mill Creek Park is an amazingly gorgeous recreational area with over 2 acres of space! Observe the wetlands as you walk along their beautiful pedestrian bridges or if you are looking for a longer route, these paths lead down a 5 mile trail system! You can also enjoy fishing or bring your non-motorized boat to explore Mill Creek itself. The park is located behind the fire station and has a wooden staircase leading to the Dexter District Library and the Dexter Farmer's Market!

The charming Dexter Cider Mill has continuously been in operation since 1886. They still make the best cider around, in the same way they have for over 100 years ago, on their oak press! Aside from the usual apples and cider, they also offer a great variety of bakery items from their very own bakery as well as tons of other fresh and homemade goodies. This is a great place to bring the whole family for a visit. Come during the fall months and you can also admire the beautifully colored trees along the way!
