This weekend marks the beginning of the fishing season in Michigan. So grab a pole and your fishing license, come on out to enjoy catch and release fishing on Whispering Springs Lake. As with any private lake, be sure to ask homeowners for permission to fish on their property. You'll find small mouth bass, perch, and blue gill; which are stocked by the WSLA. Northern Pike like to sneak in to the lake when the creek overflows it's boundary, so they are fun to catch and take out of the lake. July 4th is the big neighborhood fishing tournament where you keep your fish. The fish are numbered and weighed to see who is the top fisherman on the lake. It's fun for all!

The Grandville Education Foundation held a breakfast, inviting business owners to interact with students and school leadership in a round table setting. We discussed what students needed to know about the world of work, what graduates will offer to the workplace and what was missing. Each table articulated their thoughts to the group at large. Businesses and schools need to work side by side, and Grandville Education Foundation is leading the way.
