Downtown Milford Area Insight

  • What a beautiful night in downtown Milford's Central Park for the opening of the new amphitheatre. The band, 50 AMP FUSE, playing old rock and roll, Motown, and pop, was the perfect way to ring in the free Summer Concert series every Thursday at 7:00 pm. There were well over a 1,000 spectators enjoying the warm sunshine in their lawn chairs or dancing the night away on the dance floor. A few vendors were on hand to serve up the local eats and the streets were alive with people of all ages. We did have to make a stop at the Milford House Ice Cream window to have a Sanders Hot Fudge Sundae before the night was over, yum! What a great way to spend a warm spring evening, doesn't get any better than this. I love Milford.
  • Looking for a great place to bike, this is it! Kensington Metropark is one of the most popular parks in Michigan and it's easy to understand why with eight miles of pristine paved trails and hills that wind around 1,200 acre Kent Lake. Kensington Metropark located between Milford and South Lyon is pretty quiet during the week so it is a great time to ride. Two lanes, one in each direction, make traveling at any speed pretty easy. If you want to ride a little farther, park in the lot on S. Commerce just west of Milford Rd known as The Milford Trail and ride your bike into the park. No park pass is needed to enter from this area, but a day or season pass is required to drive your vehicle into the park. The village of Milford is accessible from the lot to the north so make sure to stop for ice cream or a cold drink in town at one of the many local shops. The Dairy Queen at the park entrance on Milford Road is also a favorite of mine, yes, ice cream is my downfall. Just don't forget your money and remember that the park closes at dark. Enjoy!
