    I've lived in this wonderful neighborhood for over three years and every day I'm reminded why this is "the" best neighborhood in all of Lansing. Last fall, I was fortunate enough to become a member of the board of directors and now serve as the Area 2 Rep. Since then, I've attended every monthly meeting that I could attend. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at Grace United Methodist Church. The list of the community members that attend the monthly meetings is long.

    Every month, important people attend our meetings because of the value and wealth of knowledge that is shared here. Lansing City Council members, Ingham County Commissioners, police officers provide community and crime reports which are the lowest in Lansing, the list goes on. This neighborhood association is very strong and a well-knit community that is one hundred percent free of charge to be a part of. Donations are voluntary and appreciated and used for the neighborhood picnic at Elmhurst Elementary in the summer. The whole neighborhood gets together and enjoys food, there are blowups for the kids, and prizes that are given away all funded by donations. It really is "the" best neighborhood in all of Lansing. The Lansing Police Department reiterates at every meeting that we have the lowest crime and reports.

    Some facts about Colonial Village Neighborhood include: we have two parks and a total of four playgrounds. We have a neighborhood historian with very thorough archives. There used to be a lake right where the subdivision is located now prior to being developed. Colonial Village Neighborhood Association was organized in February 1998. The median home value is $101k. The median age is 43 and there are 3.41k residents.
