The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum sits in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. Its landscaping and architecture are the backdrop of many budding photographers. Inside on the first floor there is a gift shop and auditorium. Head up the elevator or stairs to the second floor and relive that era in a whole new way. There are videos, artifacts, and lots of wonderful stories of Ford from his actual baby book, mother's remarriage to Gerald Ford Sr., scouting, University of Michigan football days, marriage to Betty, war, and political life. The newest Navy aircraft carrier model is on display, named after this great man who is buried here in Grand Rapids. Wheelchairs are available and parking is very convenient.

If you are looking for a great time at Grand Rapids' hottest new venue, you've got to get tickets to 20 Monroe Live! Last week I attended the Dan and Shay Show and it was my first time in this amazing place. There's not a bad seat in the house and the decorating is unbelievable! The main floor in front of the stage is the place to catch the vibe and dance through the show. The seats in the upper mezzanine give you a birds eye view of the entire venue. Lots of food stations and waitresses with glow in the dark drink trays; they have thought of everything! What a great success this brand new venue is for downtown Grand Rapids!

You can put together a team with your friends or join a team and meet new people around the area. They have kickball, basketball, volleyball, beer Olympics, backyard games, dodge ball, hungry hungry hippos, and plenty more. If you enjoy playing sports and socializing give it a shot. • Mr. Gyro is another " best kept secret" of Grand Rapids. If you like Mediterranean Greek food, this will be the most delicious cuisine you have ever tasted. Located on the northwest side on Alpine Avenue, you can almost miss it with all the industrial businesses around. From gyros to falafel to kibbe to salads, they have it all for your taste buds. There are a couple tables to eat at outside but it is primarily a drive thru restaurant. Maybe one day they will expand or build a seating area, but for now the owner wants you to take home the yumminess. Give Mr. Gyro a try. You won't be disappointed.

Miller Johnson's offices are located on floors 8 ,9, 10 and 11 at Arena Place, Grand Rapids, the new glass building behind Van Andel area. The main reception area, designed by Integrated Architecture, is on the 11th floor. The other three floors boast same-sized offices for all associates. There are no large corner offices; instead there are large conference rooms. All the furniture is Steelcase on floors 8, 9, and 10, with no exception. And all employees have a desktop that converts from sit-to-stand. Sitting is the 'new smoking' for poor health and up to 50% of the staff prefer to stand while working at any given time. In May 2016, Miller Johnson moved 170 employees into the new space, which is designed to drive employee engagement and be welcoming. They have succeeded!

Advocates for Senior Issues invited six candidates from the Kent County electorate to debate and discuss their positions. The Gerald Ford Museum was the host site, and your first impression was very patriotic as you pulled up to the decorative Presidential seal on the doors. We were welcomed with a light breakfast and had several other politicians in the room. The lady next to me remarked, If only the Presidential debates could be like this, we could focus on the issues." Look for more events from AFSI in the future and cast an informed vote.

Fish Ladder Park was designed by Joseph Kinnebrew and completed in 1974 costing $90,000. It is located at 560 Front Avenue NW in Grand Rapids. I have been there many times in the fall and have fished for salmon! The current is fairly swift so you have to walk slowly so as not to slip. You'll find anglers that fish on the east side of the rapids from land. Great place to visit and take in the views!
