In the southeast corner of St Joseph County sits a village called Burr Oak within Burr Oak Township. The village is around one square mile but the township covers about 36 square miles. There are three well known lakes in the township. Prairie River Lake with 136 acres, Eberhard Lake with 38 acres and Fish Lake with 31 Acres. Burr Oak has a pizza place on South 3rd Street called Mama Mia's Pizza that has an awesome chicken pizza. Well worth the trip. Burr Oak is within 30 minutes of several major towns. Sturgis is 15 minutes southwest on the village, Bronson is 10 minutes east of the village, Colon is 13 minutes north of the village and Coldwater is 25 minutes from the village.
