Grand Blanc is a large area with a small town feel. Grand Blanc officially became a city on March 4th 1930, and has grown at a healthy rate every since. Grand Blanc has been my home town for around 30 years now, and I am proud to say that I am a Grand Blanc High alumni class of 1997. In this area, the public school district is known for its high standards of curriculum and evolution of technology in the classroom. There are also many private and religious schools available. The Grand Blanc area has so much to offer with its amazing and unique restaurants, entertainment, and shopping. People drive long distances to utilize our state of the art movie theater that includes an IMAX theater. There is also a handful of beautiful golf courses in and around this area including the world famous Warwick Hills, which is formally know for the location of the Buick Open. We also have plenty of parks to relax, exercise, or get your game on at.
  • The Grand Blanc Library offers Storytime with Miss Carol at Grand Blanc in the fall, winter and spring. This fantastic, free weekly event at the library is for young toddlers and preschoolers. Miss Carol offers a full hour of songs, stories, games and a craft! It is a great engaging activity for the little ones and caregivers alike!
  • Culver's is a great new fast food option in Grand Blanc! As a realtor, I find that grabbing a quick meal out is a weekly necessity. Eating well can be a challenge when you only have 15 minutes before getting back into the car.

Thankfully, Culver's offers a wide variety of "waist" friendly items that are also filling, like their pot roast dinner. When I really just want a burger and fries, their Butter Burger melts in your mouth and will drip into your lap if you're not careful! And don't forget about their ice cream! The Culver's in Grand Blanc is located at 9090 Holly Road.
  • Prana Yoga Center, located in the heart of downtown Grand Blanc, is a perfect place to practice and learn yoga. Owner Jennifer Whipple and the entire staff are amazing teachers. From the newest yogi to the a life long practitioner, these yoga teachers will guide them through their own personal practice.

One of our favorite parks in Grand Blanc is Rust Park, or the Red Park as my son calls it, for all the red slides. Tucked away at the end of Rust Park Drive, off of Center between Hill and S. Saginaw, this perfect little park is a popular destination for play time fun.

The playground is 90% fenced in so little ones can’t escape unnoticed. The play structure has small slides and climbing apparatus for the toddlers, and big slides and poles for the older kids. The play area also has swings and monkey bars. One feature of the park I love is that the restrooms and water fountains are located right next to the playground.

If the playground is not your thing don’t worry, Rust Park offers a wide arrangement of recreational opportunities. Many nights you can find a pick-up game on the basketball courts, but you might want to bring your own ball. The tennis courts are used a lot on the weekends.
The baseball field is typically open during the week to use for hitting/catching practice. This park is perfect for taking a long walk out with the dog or getting in a good run after dinner.

Rust Park also has a large picnic pavilion located right next to the playground and basketball courts. It can be rented out for events through the Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation Department.

Grand Blanc a suburb of Flint MI but also has easy access to Greater Detroit and the whole southeast Michigan area. It is about a one hour drive to downtown Detroit and Port Huron and less than an hour to Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Bay City. It is a nice small town with a blend of Mom and Pop country charm and big box stores. It has several higher end restaurants, including Da Edoardo North and Luca's Chophouse. Little Joe's Restaurant is a local favorite for pizza. Grand Blanc also hosts the NGC Trillium Theater with 14 screens plus an Imax Screen. Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club, (of Buick Open Fame), is also in Grand Blanc.

I am happy to call Grand Wailea Subdivision my home since 1997. One of the things that makes our subdivision special is location. We are nestled between Reid Elementary and West Middle School. Another great feature is Bicentennial Park is just a short bicycle ride away. There you can enjoy many winter and summer activities. These are just a few of the reasons I'm proud to call it home.
